Session Log - Wednesday Nov 11th, 2009 - Session IV

The party, having sufficiently recovered from their wounds from the barrow caves, head to King Ulfrid in an effort to procure permission to enter the Temple of Erethas.  They explain to the king that the warlord's hammer is infested with a mighty demon and that the only way of cleansing it involves traveling to Valhalla through the Temple.

The king's advisors and priests were furious by this request, for NO ONE enters the temple of Erethas except for the kings.  The king, understanding that the party has been very helpful in cleansing some blights in the area, did not wish to dismiss them outright as his advisors had wanted.  Instead, he gave them a task.

A tower near the palace was once inhabited by a knight named Sir Nicholas Johnston.  The knight died many years ago of the plague and his tower has lain unoccupied since, for it is rumoured that it was haunted.

The king has asked the party to remove this haunting and take possession of the tower.  If they do this, then he will grant them the scepter of kingship which will allow them entrance to the Temple of Erethas.

The party agreed and set out for the tower.  They found it very dirty and reeked of rot.  The first floor of the tower appeared empty of enemies and so they made their way up to the second floor.

It was here that Maddie opened up a door and found an "adorable" little shit creature made of boogers and pus and ooze hiding in the bathroom.  The little thing coo'd and walked up to Maddie and vomited on her.  This set off doors opening up all over  the floor and vile plague demons came forth and did battle along with several more shit creatures and a puddle of pus that dropped from the ceiling onto Idria and Maddie.

The plague demons proved to be potent foes, driving the heroes back to the walls before they were repelled and eventually taken down.  In the end, the party suffered some minor cuts and bruises and lost some healing surges and spent a couple dailies but they were still moderately strong and have a third floor of the tower to investigate as well as the dungeon level...
